If you were just wondering to yourself, “Who the frak are these guys?” – then you’re not alone, we often wonder that about ourselves. 😉
Seriously though, we’re just a group of friends who decided one day to start recording our conversations on the things we talk and geek out about most. Thus Fanboys Talking was born – and we launched with our pilot episode.
But if you’re still curious about who is who – we’ve provided some info below for you to familarize yourself with us.
Paul DePaola – (Fanboy & Founder) – Born in the desert, raised on the beach and now residing in the mountains. An obsessive, compulsive geek with a tendency to bring everything back to Star Wars. His favourite characters are Wolverine, Batman and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Paul is also, TK-5990, a proud member of the 501st Legion.
Jenn DePaola – (Fangirl & Founder) – Jenn is a self-proclaimed geek-girl, and proud of it. She is also the wife of Paul. She grew up surrounded by the world of fantasy and sci-fi from a young age and fell in love with those stories that captivated her imagination. Jenn is also an artist. She works on personal commissions, but has also worked on a few licensed non-sports trading card sets by Topps™ trading cards. To see Jenn’s work: www.jenndepaola.com.
Wayne Puckett (Fanboy)
Gatlin Blankenship (Fanboy) – Always happy to help…and hug! A bit of a late-bloomer when it comes to the wide variety of “geekness”, but born and raised a die-hard Ghosthead. He’s foul-mouthed, can be somewhat ill-tempered and silly, and is always ready for a good laugh.
Ulysses Adkins (Fanboy) – Graduate of Radford University 98′, an electrician by trade, space geek for fun who has a love of science and learning.
John Simpson (Fanboy) – A living breathing Nerd residing in rural southwestern Virginia. A rare site in those parts. John was raised on Lord of the Rings and Star Wars by closet geek parents whom he owes all his “Nerdiness” to. An avid gamer of both console and PC. John spends his time playing Xbox, working, and spending time with this wonderful wife (but not in that order).
Robert E. Sohl (Fanboy) was born and raised in southern New Jersey. He studied Cartooning at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Arts in Dover, NJ. He has lived in Virginia since 1998 and is the proud father of two children. He is an active member of the Roanoke Valley Whovians, and is an avid toy collector. As “Decepticreep” he has been posting creative photos of his collection to Flickr for years. After taking a long break, he has recently started to become interested in painting and cartooning again and is currently producing a web comic called “The Age of Heroes”.
