Some may call it Hump Day, but we know it by a different name, New Comic Day!
Once again, we have a light pull this week, I know this means I’m going to have a heavy pull week sooner or later. But, what we lose in quantity, we definitely gain in quality.
Because this was a light week, I thought I would take a chance on something new. I’ve heard a lot about this book and I was not disappointed. This is a very unique story, borrowing from the best of science fiction and of classic literature.
A poor analogy is “Star Wars meets Romeo & Juliet” however the book is so much more than that. I’m more than a little late to the party on this one (issue #4 comes out next week) but I plan to catch up as quickly as I can.
The story is one of two alien species warring with each other, however a man from one falls in love with a woman from the other. They have a baby and are now on the run from both sides.
A very original story and one well worth checking out.
Gotham City is under siege! But, let’s be honest when is it not? That’s not to take anything away from this story of Batman fighting the illusive and mysterious Court of Owls. One surviving Talon has taken the fight to Batman, and it’s personal.
The Court of Owls story has really felt like a true danger to Batman, and possibly his most personal fight in years. More so they seem to be more about destroying Bruce Wayne than Batman, which is a unique twist.
This has been a twisting and turning tale that has taken Batman to his lowest point, and it’s not over yet.
